JIM NORTHUP, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Jim Northup possesses more than 20 years of experience in forest policy and resource planning. He was Forest Director at the Vermont Natural Resources Council in 1997 to 1998, and he was a principal in Ad Hoc Associates, a private firm that has specialized in environmental and fiscal analysis since 1987.
Jim directed land and resource planning at the Green Mountain National Forest from 1979 to 1987, where he was primarily responsible for preparing a land and resource management plan for the 350,000 acre national forest. He administered an environmental education and employment program for teenagers in the USDA Forest Service from 1978 to 1979. Jim's educational background includes a Master of Environmental Management at Duke University. In addition, he has served as part-time instructor at Middlebury College, the University of Vermont's Graduate School of Natural Resources Planning, and the Antioch New England Graduate School.

MOLLIE MATTESON, EDUCATION AND OUTREACH DIRECTOR
Mollie has degrees in zoology (BS) and wildlife biology (MS) from the University of Montana. Her thesis focused on a recovering wolf population in the Northern Rockies. She has worked as a wilderness ranger in Washington, Wyoming, and Montana; spent two summers in Yellowstone Park coordinating visitor education on wolves for Defenders of Wildlife; studied coyotes and the effects of human exploitation; taught high school biology; led college field classes in ecology and wildlife policy; worked as an editor of books on outdoor recreation and environmental subjects; and most recently, served as Education Coordinator for the National Public Lands Grazing Campaign. She is an accomplished writer and speaker.

RICHARD ANDREWS, SOUTHERN VERMONT COORDINATOR
Richard Andrews is a wilderness activist who campaigned for and helped draft the Vermont Wilderness Act of 1984, and has helped write and edit management plans for several wildernesses in the Green Mountain National Forest. Dick was a reporter and Business Editor for The Rutland Herald, and as a free lance writer has worked for Vermont Business Magazine, the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, and Vermont Law School. He holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, speaks Russian, and lives in Andover, Vermont.

EMILY SLOAN, ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR & PHOTOGRAPHER
Emily Sloan holds a Master's in Fine Arts and is a professional photographer. She has researched and photographed the effects of deforestation, and is passionate about helping us photograph, save, and re-create wild forests. She enjoys hiking, swimming, and kayaking.

CHAREN FEGARD, OFFICE MANAGER
Charen came to Vermont four years ago. After a nomadic life that started as a self-described "Air Force brat" and lasted for three decades, she says Vermont is the first place that truly feels like home. She is a biologist with a Bachelors degree and a long list of diverse real world experiences ranging from landscaping to childcare, and environmental protection to office administration.
